Happy 1/2 Birthday

Mark and Ella turned 6 months old last Saturday and celebrated with a trip to the Dr. Mark was over 16 lbs (50%) and almost 27" (his paper says 50%, but I could have sworn the dr said 75%) and Ella was 15 1/2 lbs (45%) and 25" (25%). So both are growing and doing great. We are well into solid foods now and Mark will eat any and everything. Ella, however, is a little more particular.

Mark and Ella are really squirming and moving around in their cribs at night. The other day I found Ella completely flipped 180 degrees and Mark like this picture. His feet are where his head usually is. He gets stuck like this, too and can't flip back over so he gets rather frustrated. As long as its not too early in the morning, its pretty funny.

Business as usual

Its been a little while since I posted any new pics, but nothing terribly exciting has been happening lately. We've had some pretty relaxing weekends, which has helped us work on a napping schedule, but thats about it. Mark and Ella go to the doc for their 6 month check up later this week, so we'll see how they are doing then. And we get to have some more fun shots!

Fun Stuff

We had a very fun weekend. My friend Carolyn came to visit and meet the babies. We had lots of fun setting up the game room and playing. Mark and Ella are definitely missing her today. And Matt babysat Saturday night so we could have a night on the town (and by night on the town...I mean we went to dinner and were home by 10)!
Our friends Aaron and Lindsey came in town from Austin this weekend for a wedding and stopped by for a baby gathering. We got to meet their sweet baby Ava, who snoozed until Mark and Ella went down for a nap, and then decided to open her eyes and play for a bit. So sweet and so tiny! I can't wait until these 3 can really play together.

5 months old

Mark and Ella are 5 months old today. Where has the time gone?! Both are doing great and having lots of fun. We broke out the jumperoo yesterday and Ella loves it. Mark is still figuring it all out, but Ella can get enough of the bouncing. And Oatmeal has to be in the middle of it all.

Food!

Mark and Ella have started in on real food this past month. Both are taking to it really well and Mark can't get enough of it! Both have tried rice cereal and pears, and Mark loves pears. Ella isn't quite sure about them just yet, but we just started those with her.

Mark has also become quite the thumb sucker. If he can find his thumb (which he does consistently now) he's a happy boy. Ella on the other hand, sucks her bottom lip. It's the funniest thing, but it works. She also has a rather strong core and we call this move super girl. She is stiff as a board and holds it as long as you hold her up. I guess she got strong doing all those crunches in her car seat. She's always pulled forward trying to get out.

Merry Christmas

Mark and Ella had a great Christmas. We started at our house Christmas morning, then went over to the Meloys to celebrate there with all the cousins and Aunts and Uncles. Then on the 27th, we went to the Keyworths to celebrate with their Aunt Valerie and Uncle Steve. Mark and Ella cleaned up and we are going to have lots of fun the next few months with all their new toys.

4 months old....

Mark and Ella had their 4 month Dr appointment on Friday and everything looks great. Ella is holding steady at 25% across the board, while Mark has jumped to 50% for head and height and 25% for weight. Ella weighed in at just over 12 pounds and Mark is at 13 1/2 pounds (though he feels much heavier).

Here are a few pics over the past few weeks. The first is Ella during tummy time (she's staring at the tv) and the next is Mark in a good mood after eating. Ella is all about sticking her tongue out lately and its just too funny. We went to Lights in the Heights this past Saturday and Mark completely crashed on Matt. Matt even had the large drool spot on his shirt for a while as a souvenir.
