At home

Here are some pictures of us at home. We actually got some sleep the first night, so I'd call that a success. Though I don't know what I'm going to do when Matt goes back to work since he does SO much. What a great daddy! :) Nana (my mom) is here this week to help out and its been priceless and its only been 1 day!

They're Here!!!

Mark James Meloy and Ella Grace Meloy were born Thursday August 9th at 6:28 am and 6:29 am. Mark was 5lb 0oz 18 inches and Ella was 5lb 8 oz 18.25 inches. Everything went smoothly and we were all able to come home Sunday afternoon. Mark had a bit of trouble (as with most preterm boys) and was in the NICU for our entire stay, but he's doing great at home. I'm not surprised that Ella flipped several times in the womb now that I see how she is on the outside. Such a wiggle worm. And Mark is perfectly content all bundled up.

Last Belly Pic

Here it is...the last picture of my giant belly. I had a dr appointment Wednesay 8/8 and I got looks and comments from everyone I came in contact with. Its pretty bad when you are at the OB office and get stares from the receptionist, random nurses in the hall, dr's on the elevator, other pregnant women! :)

Its Official

I have confirmed with the Dr and Thursday is the day!! I'm scheduled for the first c-section of the day at 6:30 in the morning, which means Matt and I will be at the hospital bright and early at 4:30! So hopefully I'll be too tired to get nervous about whats going on. :) Wish us all luck!

Delivery Day .... maybe!

I went for an ultrasound with the specialist on Tuesday and everything looked pretty good. Mark weighed in at 4lb 15 oz (30th %) and Ella was 5 lb 6 oz (40th %). Their %'s dropped and will continue to do so, so she said she'd like the babies delivered within 2 to 2 1/2 weeks. Unfortunately, that is precisely when my OB is out of town.

So after seeing my OB the next day, she thought going a bit early would still be ok (I'll be 36 weeks then). So I'm scheduled for a c-section August 9th at 6:30 in the morning. Ella has now decided to lay sideways which is pretty much the worst position for her. So unless she decides to cooperate, we're looking at a c-section. My OB would like to talk to the specialist and get her opinion on the August 9th date just to be sure. But of course, the specialist is out of town so we won't know until Monday. But, hopefully, everyone agrees and thats the day! Can't wait!

Nursery Pics

Here are some pics of the nursery! Mark and Ella's talented Nana made all the bedding and curtains! She's probably very tired of pink, blue, and brown at the moment, but I think it looks great! Big thanks to Mom for all her work!

I also added a pic of my big belly. I'm 34 weeks and 3 days (yes I'm counting down the days at this point). And yes, its 2:00 in the afternoon and those are my pajama pants. Unfortunately, there are a limited amount of things that will fit at the moment and I'm all about comfort. :) I also put in a cute pic of Oatmeal. He's taken to napping in his crate for some reason, and this is what Matt and I call his air conditioning position.

June Ultrasound

The babies are getting really big now, so the pictures from the ultrasound are getting harder and harder to make out. This one is of Mark and I couldn't find a good one of Ella. She was a little camera shy this last time.

Ella is in the 80% for her age and was over 4 1/2 lbs last week. Mark was right at 50% and weighed in over 3 1/2 lbs. Only about 1 more month to go, so we'll see how big they get. I'm at home for the remainder of the pregnancy since my doc was a little worried about Mark's size, but we got a 2nd opinion last week and everything is fine. Now I'm just at home napping and cranking down the a/c.
